Building Resilience On and Off the Bike

  • Wrong Way Camprground 9 Midnight Dr Asheville, NC, 28806 United States (map)

Learn from a professional, licensed counselor on ways to build resiliency, conquer your fears, and step out of your comfort zone on the trails.

Are you wanting to feel more confident and less afraid on your bike?  During this event, we will learn ways to build resilience so you can find more joy and ride features that you can’t seem to try even though you have the skills.  We will do this by learning ways to regulate the central nervous system, work the edges of your comfort zone to improve your overall riding, practice mindfulness and presence on and off your bike, and assess risk without letting old stories (aka previous crashes, insecurities, etc.) take over your ride.

Sara Hunter is a PMBIA Level 1 Mountain Bike Instructor and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC).  Sara has a counseling practice in Asheville in which she utilizes Adventure Therapy via mountain biking to support clients who are feeling stuck in complex trauma and anxiety.  Sara also supports mountain bikers through confidence coaching sessions on specific sections of trail that they continue to struggle with due to fear.

Registration and RSVP go live Tuesday, January 9 at 7 pm. This ride is open to all women.
